2026 Batch C online registration is open from Monday 7 September to Sunday 13 September 2026 on portal.nysc.org.ng — one week only. You need NERD clearance before the portal will let you register. The Batch B Stream II camp ended on 25 August 2026, and the federal monthly allowance stays at ₦77,000. The latest details are below.

Now (September 2026): NYSC fixed Monday 7 – Sunday 13 September 2026 for 2026 Batch C online registration (announced 28 August). NERD clearance is compulsory before you register. Batch C camp dates are not yet official — 23 September to 13 October is circulating for Stream I from a tentative timetable. Live updates: @officialnyscng.

NERD clearance is now compulsory. Before you can register on the NYSC portal you must be cleared on the National Education Records Database (NERD) — NYSC’s words: “No NERD clearance, no NYSC registration.” Create an account at ned.gov.ng/onboarding, upload your final-year project or thesis plus your statement of result, NIN and passport photo, and print the clearance slip once verified. Many schools route students through accredited NERD centres; agents charge a processing fee (about ₦10,000 is widely reported — confirm at your centre, and never pay anyone who promises to “fast-track” NYSC).

Latest NYSC updates (September 2026)

Batch C registration: 7–13 September 2026. Register at portal.nysc.org.ng within the window. Your name must be on your school’s Senate-approved list, and you need NIN and NERD clearance first.
NERD clearance is mandatory. NYSC restated it for Batch C: no NERD clearance, no registration. Sort it out before you open the portal, not on the last day.
Batch B Stream II camp has ended. The orientation ran nationwide from 5 to 25 August 2026; corps members are at their places of primary assignment.
Batch C camp dates: not yet official. Expect Stream I in late September/October; confirm on the portal or @officialnyscng before you travel.
Monthly allowance: the federal allowance remains ₦77,000. Camps are still three weeks — the six-week camp in the June 2026 reforms is not law yet.

NYSC Corps Member Allowance

Corps members earn ₦77,000 per month as the federal monthly allowance. This rate took effect in March 2025, replacing the ₦33,000 paid since 2020.

State governments and host employers may pay extra. The figure varies by state and posting.

Registration Portal Status

Online registration runs through the official portal at portal.nysc.org.ng. Use only NYSC-accredited cybercafés if you cannot register yourself.

Fresh Registration: first-time registrants.

Revalidation: registrants who never reported to camp.

Current window: 2026 Batch C, 7–13 September 2026. The dashboard shows “No Active Registration” outside a window.

NERD Clearance Requirement

Since 2025 Batch C, NYSC will not complete your registration unless your final-year project or thesis has been uploaded and verified on the National Education Records Database (NERD), run by the Federal Ministry of Education. Register at ned.gov.ng or through your school’s accredited NERD centre, upload the project, your statement of result, NIN and a passport photo, then print the clearance slip. Clearance can take minutes or days depending on the queue — do it before the registration window.

NIN Requirement

Your National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory. The name on your NIN must match the name on your JAMB admission record. If they differ, visit a NIMC office to fix the NIN before you register.

The NYSC Mobilization Process

Mobilization is the first stage of national service. NYSC publishes a mobilization time-table that lists every step a graduate must complete before camp.

Documents to Bring to NYSC Camp

Pack these documents before you leave for camp. Missing any of them will delay your registration.

1. School ID Card

Bring your original school ID card or final-year card and at least two photocopies. Faculty and departmental ID cards are not accepted.

2. NIN Slip

Bring the original slip and at least two photocopies.

2b. NERD Clearance Slip

Bring a printed copy of your NERD clearance slip with its credential number. Camp officials check it against the database.

3. Statement of Result

Bring the original and at least four photocopies of your degree or HND statement of result.

Foreign-trained graduates must bring authentic certificates. Polytechnic graduates need both ND and HND statements. PCMs in medical fields must add proof of internship plus an original certificate from the Nigerian Medical Council, Pharmacist Board, or Optometrist Registration Council.

4. Call-Up Letter

Bring the original and at least four photocopies. Do not laminate it. Camp officials will reject a laminated letter.

5. Green Card

Bring the original and at least four photocopies. Print it in colour. Do not laminate it.

6. Passport Photographs

Bring at least 15 recent passport photos with a white or off-white background.

7. Medical Fitness Certificate

Bring two copies from any government hospital or military medical facility in Nigeria.

8. Uploaded Documents (Foreign-Trained Graduates)

Bring originals of every document you uploaded during online registration.

NYSC Senate Approved List

Each Nigerian university submits a list of graduates eligible for NYSC. Your school sends this list to the NYSC Advisory Board.

NYSC Exemption Letter

An exemption letter (also called a certificate of exemption) is for graduates who fall outside the NYSC service brackets, including those over 30 at graduation, military and paramilitary personnel, and people with permanent disabilities.

Relocation and Redeployment

Date of Birth Correction

NYSC no longer uses WAEC information to update your date of birth on the portal.

The new procedure: write an application to your institution’s Students Affairs Officer (SAO) and attach the following:

A copy of your WAEC certificate showing date of birth
The bio-data form you filled at admission
First School Leaving Certificate
WAEC Results verification PIN

The SAO forwards the file to NYSC.

Community Development Service (CDS)

CDS is the part of NYSC where corps members give back to their host community. Each corps member joins a CDS group based on interest and skill.
