What data we collect
When you visit Awajis, standard web server logs record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used only to analyse site performance and is not linked to your personal identity.
If you submit a comment or contact form, we collect the name and message you provide. Email is optional. We store submissions in our database to respond to you and to triage content corrections. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for marketing.
Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics (cookieless/privacy-safe mode where available) and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site.
- Advertising: We display ads via Google AdSense. Google may use the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve relevant ads based on your visit history. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings or via aboutads.info.
- Comments: If you leave a comment, your name may be stored in a browser cookie for convenience on your next visit.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Core site content remains accessible without cookies.
Quiz leaderboards (jambcbt.awajis.com and waecquiz.awajis.com)
What we collect when you save a score: your name (shown on the leaderboard), your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, your score and the date, and your IP address (to stop spam and repeat entries). Your email, phone number and IP address are never shown publicly.
Why: to show your score on the leaderboard and keep it fair. We only use your email or phone for tips and offers if you tick “Send me JAMB tips and offers” (or “Send me WAEC tips and offers”) when you save your score. Leaving it unticked does not affect your score.
If you tick the box: we may send you JAMB or WAEC tips, past-question alerts and offers about Awajis apps by email, SMS or WhatsApp. To stop, reply STOP, use the unsubscribe link in the message, or tell us through our contact page. Stopping does not affect messages already sent. We record when you ticked the box and the wording you saw.
Students under 18: please tick the box only if a parent or guardian agrees. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s details at any time.
Where your details are kept: on our servers in Germany (Hetzner, in the EU), backed up nightly. We do not sell your details or upload them to advertising platforms.
How long: leaderboard entries are deleted 18 months after you save them. If you ask us to delete yours sooner, we remove it straight away, and it leaves our backups within 6 months.
Your rights: you can see, correct or delete your details and withdraw your consent at any time through our contact page, and you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).
Third-party links
Our articles link to external sites (government portals, official sources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Awajis is designed for Nigerian students, including secondary and university students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us for removal.
