As of April, the active mobile telephone users in Nigeria increased to 160 million, with a corresponding increase in internet users from 100.6 million ( as recorded in March) to 101.2 million.
Sadly, however, 9Mobile and Globacom could not take part in this growth shift. They reported that they lost a combined total of 471,782 of their internet mobile subscribers, as reported by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
In fact, the record has about 321,497 users who abandoned the Glo network as of April. Therefore reducing the company’s total number of subscribers from about 26.6 million to about 26.3 million.
This report is definitely not a shock to most Glo network subscribers in Nigeria. There have been millions of complaints of not getting value for their subscriptions due to their abysmal network coverage.
