See what happens at NYSC CDS Group Meeting day: Federal Road and Safety Corp (frsc) CDS Group…
This is another lovely CDS group that a lot of corp members easily fall in love with.
From the name it seems like a better option for some when compared to whatever other CDS group that may found in the area at the time.
This FRSC is especially available in city areas likely tending to the fact such community would find their support helpful.
What is the FRSC CDS Group all about? What can you gain from finding yourself in this CDS group?
Like every other CDS group the club finds ways to improve on the needs of the community, and in their case tend to ensure that awareness is made on the importance of safe driving, educating members on vital road rules, and then controlling traffic within the environs.
Â
CDS group: Â FRSC Road Safety Club
mission statement: Â to offer complimentary services to the FRSC in traffic control in the metropolis, to control accident, and ensure a safer and conducive road movement for passengers and drivers alike.
commencement of meetings
Meetings or any group activity usually commences by 10.00am and in about two hours we are done with our cds.
At the start of each day the national anthem and the nysc anthem is sang. The minutes of the last meeting is read. The floor is opened for any objector. If there is none, someone moves for the adoption of the minutes read followed by someone to second.
Important matters for the day are brought to the table. Any training scheduled for the day is taken. If there should be an outdoor activity then it is carried out for the day.
INDOOR meetings
The frsc cds meeting usually borders on how we can be effective in the duties of controlling traffic, ensuring road safety, learning important road signs, learning how to deal with road drivers and many things like this.
At other times the meeting would include the needs of the CDS such as payment of dues, arrears on dues/fines, activities to be carried out, and others.
As much as possible my cadet in chief tries to make the meeting as effective as possible.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
our outdoor activities are usually on the road. We work hand in hand with the road safety in their duties.
Our road activities would include road traffic, ensuring that the road is safe by working on them or reporting to the appropriate bodies, ensuring that drivers drive safely with good car conditions.
On some other days our activities might include making awareness on special days such as world accident day, world safety day, and world trekker’s day, which usually include walking on the street in favour of the importance of those special days.
There are days we also go to parks to lecture drivers and cyclist on important safety rules, road signs and others.
Closure of Meeting
At the end of the meeting, when there is nothing to talk about the meeting is adjourned by someone and seconded by another. Then comes the singing of the nysc anthem, followed by a prayer and then the day closes.

Â
PAYMENT OF DUES/FINES
For members of my group while I was serving a year ago payment of dues refers to paying N800 for registration into the club, and another N1500 for your frsc uniform.
Although in the constitution there are fines for things like coming late to meetings, inappropriate behavior, absenteeism to meetings, and the like, majorly as a paramilitary club the punishments is usually physical such as drilling, frog jumping and the rest. Any other financial payment is usually meager say N20 or N50.
