Sunday 8th August 2021 Fresh students come into halls of residence for the 2020/2021 session.
Monday 9th August 2021 Online clearance/registration for fresh students continues.
Sunday 15th August 2021 Old students come into halls of residence for the 2020/2021 session.
Monday 16th August – Friday 3rd September 2021 Registration of courses and payment of school charges
Monday 23rd August 2021 The first-semester lecture begins for all students
Friday 29th October 2021 The first-semester lecture ends for all students
Monday 8th November 2021 Examination begin in Faculties of Education and Pharmacy
Saturday 13th November 2021 CED Examinations
Monday 15th November – Saturday 27th November 2021 Other Faculty examinations (two weeks)

9th – 13th May 2022 Business Committee of Senate meets to consider Results of Lower Level and Penultimate year for 2020/2021 Academic Session.
16th – 20th May 2022 Senate meet to consider Sessional Results for the final year for 2020/2021 Academic Session

Any student who fails to register by the registration deadline will be considered to have willfully dropped out from the University.


The University of Benin is a Nigerian government-owned institution that is financed and administered by Nigeria’s federal government. The university was established in 1970. The university is among Nigeria’s oldest and has a huge faculty members and students population. As a result, the student-to-staff ratio is around 10:1. The university’s student body is varied, with students hailing from all across the country and encompassing a range of age groups.
