For most countries, the minimum wage amount is fixed for all states by the Federal Government. It could be hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.
The story is quite different in Canada, though. The Canadian federal government mandated the Provincial government to fix the Minimum wage per hour for all Canadian workers that are working in any of the provinces.
However, in some years past, the Canadian minimum wage was always set by the Federal government for people working in federal industries. Until 1996 minimum wage in Canada was re-defined to be the minimum amount of payment entitled to an adult worker depending on the province or territory where he/she is working at.
In Canada, there are more than ten provinces which you will see below, and in each of the provinces, the minimum wage per hour differs.

Canada Minimum Wage by Provinces
1. Alberta
In Alberta, the minimum wage for working adults is C$15.00 per hour. This minimum wage amount was set by the provincial government in October 2018.
However, children working under the age of 18 are excepted from this wage. Theirs may be different.
2. British Columbia
The current minimum wage for people working in the British Columbia province of Canada is C$15.20 per hour.
This amount increment was effected on 1st June 2021, But before now, the former minimum wage for this province was C$14.60 per hour, and it was effected on 1st June 2020.
This amount is fixed for all workers in the province without exceptions.
3. Manitoba
The minimum wage amount in the Manitoba province is C$11.90 per hour; this was effected on 1st October 2020, and there will be an increment in the minimum wage to C$11.95 per hour come 1st October 2021.
4. New Brunswick
The New Brunswick provincial minimum wage is C$11.75 per hour. This was effected on 1st April 2021.
5. Newfoundland & Labrador
The Newfoundland & Labrador province’s current minimum wage amount is C$12.50.
However, by 1st October 2021, Â $0.25 will be added to the minimum of this province, making their hourly wage amount C$12.75 Per hour.
6. Northwest Territories
The minimum wage per hour in this Canadian province is C$13.4. This wage amount was effected on 1st April 2018.
But, on 1st September 2021, the is going to be an increment in the wage amount to C$15.20. per hour

7. Nova Scotia
In Nova Scotia, the minimum amount here is C$12.95 per hour, which was effected on 1st April 2021.
8. Nunavut
In April 2020, the Nunavut province minimum wage amount was increased to C$16.00 per hour, and that’s what it’s still maintaining.
Maybe there is going to be an increment soon—possibly next year’s 1st April.
9. Ontario
In Ontario, the minimum wage per hour for working here is C$14.25.
The amount was fixed on 1st October 2020, but on 1st October 2021, the amount will be increased to $14.35.
10. Prince Edward Island
Recently effected on 1st April 2021, the current minimum wage for the PEI province is C$13.00 per hour.
11. Quebec
The minimum wage amount for all workers here is C$13.50 per hour. This amount increment was fixed on 1st May 2021.
12. Saskatchewan
In Saskatchewan, the minimum wage amount is C$11.45 per hour. The amount was effected on 1st October 2021, and as such, it will be increased to C$11.81 by 1st October 2021.
13. Yukon
Workers in this province are entitled to a minimum wage of C$13.85. This amount increment was effected on 1st April 2021.
