Jamb Admission Status Checking Portal (2024 Update)

JAMB is Nigeria’s examination entrance agency responsible for admitting students into higher institutions. If you have written the UTME examination and have taken part in the post-UTME exercise, then you have to check your admission status. This way, you will easily know if you have been offered admission or not.

JAMB created the CAPS (central admission processing system) to enable candidates to simplify the process of admission and allow students to find out the status of their admission.

In this article, we will explore how you can check your admission through the CAPS portal.

What is JAMB CAPS?

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has created the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to streamline the Admissions Process in higher institutions across the country. It was lauded by education stakeholders for its ease of use and convenience.

CAPS plays a significant role in the admissions process. It eliminates the problems of the past and helps ensure transparency in the landscape. As a candidate, the system benefits you tremendously as you can either accept or reject admission from institutions.

How to Check 2024 Jamb Admission Status

step 1. Click Here to Visit the new Jamb e-facility portal(jamb.org.ng/efacility).

step 2. Once you land, Create a new account and gently log in.

step 3. Once you’re logged in. Click on Check Admission Status as shown in the image below.

step 4. Select Examination & Enter your Jamb Reg number in the space provided.

step 5. Click on the blue “check admission status” button.

And your 2021 Jamb Admission status will be displayed to you. That’s how to check your Jamb Admission status.

Only names sent to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB is available on the portal at the moment.

The following is a list of the JAMB responses and their meanings:

CONGRATULATIONS PROVISIONAL ADMISSION HAS BEEN OFFERED TO YOU:

You have the option to ACCEPT or REJECT the admission offer at this point.

ADMISSION IS CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS:

This indicates that you have been approved for admission and are currently being processed. Consider yourself admitted while your application is being processed. Regularly check back to see if the notice changes to “Congratulations, you’ve been admitted.”

NOT ADMITTED:

This merely implies that you have not yet been considered for admission. Check out the JAMB website regularly to see if anything has changed.

Candidates who have been accepted through the JAMB portal should proceed to the next step.

Candidates who have been accepted are encouraged to:

• Accept or reject their admission by logging into the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
• After accepting the admission, they should print their JAMB admission letter. This documentation will be required for validation and registration.
• Print their JAMB result slip in its original format (this comes with passport photography affixed to it).
• If they are assigned courses other than the ones they originally applied for, they can request a change of course using the JAMB Portal.
