Frequently Asked Questions

Is *329# free?

The USSD session itself is free, but each transaction (transfer or airtime purchase) attracts a ₦6.98 telco fee plus the standard FCMB transaction charge.

What if I lose the phone with the FCMB Mobile app?

Dial *329*911# from any phone to block your account, then call 0700-329-0000 to deactivate the lost device.

Why is my *329# saying “transaction not allowed”?

You may have hit the daily limit, your card may be expired, or your account may have a name mismatch with the SIM. Visit any FCMB branch with ID to fix the issue.

Can I use *329# on a SIM not registered with my account?

No. The USSD service only works from the phone number on file with FCMB. Update your number at any branch first.

Does FCMB charge a token fee?

The FCMB Mobile soft token is free. Hardware tokens (issued only to corporate customers on request) attract a one-off fee.

How do I open an FCMB account from the app?

Download FCMB Mobile, tap Open an Account, supply your BVN, NIN and a selfie. The Tier 1 account opens instantly with a virtual debit card; visit a branch to upgrade to Tier 3.
