What is the Junior WAEC Result? (JSCE/BECE)

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the end-of-Junior-Secondary-3 examination that promotes students from JSS3 to SSS1. It is administered by:

• NECO — for Federal Unity Colleges, Armed Forces Secondary Schools and other federal institutions.
• State Examination Boards — each state runs its own BECE for public junior secondary schools, with state-specific portals and dates.

How to Check NECO Junior WAEC (BECE) Result 2026 — Step by Step

Important: You must purchase a NECO Result Token to view your BECE result. As of July 2026, a single-use token costs approximately ₦2,100 on the official portal.

Buy a NECO Result Token

1. Visit results.neco.gov.ng.
2. Create an account using your name, email and phone number (if you don’t have one already).
3. Log in and follow the on-screen prompts to purchase a token by debit card or bank transfer.
4. Your token (a unique PIN) will be saved to your account and emailed to you.

Check Your 2026 BECE Result

1. Return to results.neco.gov.ng and log in.
2. Select Examination Year: 2026.
3. Select Examination Type: BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination).
4. Enter the Token you purchased (or scratch-card PIN if you have one).
5. Enter your Registration Number exactly as it appears on your exam slip.
6. Click Check Result — your result loads in a pop-up.

NECO BECE Grading System (2026)

The official BECE grading scale used in 2026:

• B — Upper Credit
• C — Lower Credit
• P — Pass
• F — Fail

ABIA STATE

1. Visit the Abia Examinations Development Commission portal.
2. Log in to your account.
3. Select exam type (BECE) and exam year (2026).
4. Enter your PIN and tap Show My Result.

BAUCHI STATE

The Ministry of Education result page at moebauchi.bu.gov.ng shows a “suspended” notice as of 12 September 2026, so there is no working online checker. Collect your result from your school.

DELTA STATE

Delta released the 2026 BECE result on 5 September 2026 (85,049 of 97,817 candidates passed; 12,241 sit the resit and 527 failed, per the Ministry of Secondary Education). There is no public online checker: the old deltamobse.net portal now redirects to an advert site, so do not enter your details there.

1. Go to your school and collect your free result access card from the principal’s office.
2. Your school prints the result slip for you; keep a photocopy for SSS1 placement.

OGUN STATE

Ogun released the 2026 BECE result on 10 September 2026 (announced by the Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu). A resit will hold for candidates who failed English, Mathematics or both; the date is yet to be announced.

1. Go to diper.ogunstate.gov.ng.
2. Click BECE Examination.
3. Click View Result and enter your candidate details as your school registered them.

IMO STATE

1. Go to education.im.gov.ng/result-checking.
2. Enter your examination number (format XX/000/000). Forgotten it? Search by name, school and LGA instead.
3. Pay the one-time ₦1,000 access fee online.
4. View, download and print your result.

ENUGU STATE

1. Collect your free BECE scratch card from your school.
2. Go to www.edcenugu.ng/results/check and tap Check Result.
3. Select your local government and school.
4. Enter your registration number, card PIN and serial number.
5. View and print the result.

Lagos, Kano, Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Plateau and Kwara currently have no working public checker (the old plabece.com.ng and kwarabece.com portals are dead) — the State Ministry of Education sends results to school principals, and Oyo distributes through Local Inspector of Education offices. Nasarawa’s erc.nasmoe.net.ng portal is a school login, so your school checks on your behalf. Collect your result from your school.

Note: Public junior secondary school results are now available for collection at district headquarters. Licensed private junior secondary schools collect from their assigned liaison officers; accredited private school heads should consult the State Examination Board headquarters.

Has the 2026 NECO BECE result been released?

NECO released the 2026 BECE result on Thursday, 26 June 2026 — results for the 186,291 candidates who sat the exam across Nigeria and five foreign countries. Check it at results.neco.gov.ng using a result token. The re-sit papers for Mathematics and English Studies held on 22–23 July 2026; re-sit results follow on the same portal.

Is the 2026 state BECE (Junior WAEC) result out?

It depends on your state. As of 12 September 2026, Ogun (10 September) and Delta (5 September) have released, and Benue is reported released; NECO’s own BECE for federal schools has been out since 26 June. Every other state, including Lagos, Enugu, Rivers and FCT, had not announced publicly by 12 September. If the portal shows nothing for you, your state has most likely not released yet: ask your school, and check back here.

How much does a NECO Result Token cost in 2026?

What is the use of Junior WAEC?

NECO does not currently offer an SMS option for BECE result-checking. Use the online portal at results.neco.gov.ng.

What grades do I need to qualify for SSS1?
