The beach is one of the tourist attractions in Nigeria. Also, in June 2010, there was a report of oil spills on the beach.

The beach is often patronized by visitors from southeastern, south-south and north-central parts of Nigeria who desire to take time off their schedules and relax at Ibeno beach.

The beach is located in Ibeono Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State. It is in the Akwa Ibom south senatorial district. Ibeono town is also close to Eket and Onna Local Government Areas. It shares a border with Mbo Local Government Area and the Atlantic Ocean.

Ibeono beach is as long as 30 kilometres spreading across the Atlantic coastline of the state. It is much-touted to be West Africa’s longest beach. Ibeono beach provides an aesthetically-pleasing coastline, which provides facilities for beach volley, boating, water sporting and relaxation.

The beach is blessed with limitless white sand that continues to trail along the seashore of the Atlantic. The Ibeono beach has a lot of waves that dance with torrents on its shore.

According to historical sources, Ibeno indigenes have been around the beachside since 1200-1500 BC.

The beautiful lineup of trees offers a wonderful shelter from the stinging sunray as it is a shade for relaxation and resting after playing on the beach.
