Samsung Smart Remote

There are thirteen(13) buttons on the Samsung smart tv remote. This post contains the function of each of those buttons – smart hub, ambient mode button, numbers button, etc.

This post shall also serve as a reference guide to all other posts we’ll be making on Samsung smart tv. Use the tag index as a reference guide.

SMART TV BUTTONSFUNCTION
Power buttonsamsung smart remote power buttonPress and hold to turn off the TV completely.

When watching TV, press to switch to Art Mode. In Art Mode, press to switch watching

Voice Assistantsamsung tv voice assistantRuns voice assistant. Press and hold the button, say a command, and then release the button to run voice assistant.
Colour / Number Buttonsamsung smart tv color buttonEach time you press this button, the coloured buttons window and virtual numeric pad are displayed alternatively.
Ambient ModeSmart tv ambient buttonIn TV mode, press the button to enter Ambient mode.

If you press the button when the tv is turned off, the tv turns on into Ambient Mode.

Directional ButtonSmasung smart tv directional buttonMoves the focus around.

Tap on the middle button to select or run a focused item.

Returnreturn keyPress this to return to the previous menu. When pressed for 1 second or more, the running function is terminated

Press it while watching a programme and the previous channel appears.

Smart HubSamsung tv smart hub buttonPress to return to the Home Screen
Play / Pauseplay pause buttonWhen pressed, the play-back controls appear.
+/- (Volume)Voulume buttonMove the button up or down to control volume.

To mute the sound, press the button.

Channelchannel changeMove the button up or down to change channel. To see the guide or channel, Press the button.
Launch AppSamsung smart tv launch appLaunch the app indicated by the button.

 

Note:

  • Use the Samsung smart remote less than 6m from the TV.
  • The images, buttons and functions may differ with model or geographical area.
