Reading time5 minutes

As of 9 September 2026 the NECO 2026 SSCE (June/July) result has not been released. NECO said on 16 July that results would be out by the first week of September or earlier, and it has not yet announced them. When they drop, check at results.neco.gov.ng with a result token, your registration number, exam year 2026 and exam type SSCE Internal.

What you need Registration number, a NECO result token, exam year and exam type
Token ₦2,000 on the NECO portal plus payment charges (about ₦2,250 in total), or ₦2,300 delivered instantly from Awajis Pay; one token checks one candidate’s result up to five times
2025 SSCE External (Nov/Dec) Released 3 February 2026; 71.63 percent got five credits including English and Mathematics

NECO does not announce a date in advance. The result usually appears on the portal first and the Registrar, Prof Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, holds the press briefing afterwards. Last year’s internal result came out with a 60.26 percent five-credit pass rate. We update this page and the NECO 2026 timetable and release-date page the day the result goes live.

What you need to check your NECO result

  • Your NECO registration number (on your exam slip or photocard).
  • A NECO result token. Buy it before release day; the token portal is at its slowest in the first hours after results drop.
  • The exam type (SSCE Internal for June/July school candidates, SSCE External for Nov/Dec private candidates) and the exam year.
  • A phone or computer with data. Save or print the result page once it opens.

Buy a NECO result token

A token costs ₦2,000 on the NECO portal, plus card and transfer charges. Awajis Pay sells the same official token for ₦2,300 with instant delivery on screen and by email, so you skip the account creation and the queue on release day. Each token works for one candidate’s registration number and can be used up to five times on that result.

How to check your NECO result

Option A: you already have a token

  1. Open results.neco.gov.ng.
  2. Select the examination year, for example 2026.
  3. Select the examination type, for example SSCE INTERNAL.
  4. Enter your token.
  5. Enter your NECO registration number.
  6. Click Check Result. Save or print the page.

Option B: buy the token on the NECO portal first

  1. Go to results.neco.gov.ng/login and log in, or create an account with your email and a password.
  2. Click Purchase token and pay by card or transfer. One token per result, so buy more if you are checking for several candidates.
  3. Click My token, pick the token and click Check Result beside it.
  4. Enter the exam year, exam type and registration number, then view, save or print the result.

If the page will not load in the first hours after release, that is crowding, not a wrong token. Wait a while and try again, or try early the next morning.

Internal or external: which result is yours?

SSCE Internal is the June/July exam for SS3 students in approved schools. SSCE External is the November/December exam for private candidates. The checking steps are identical; only the exam type you select changes. Results for the 2025 External sitting came out on 3 February 2026, and the 2026 External exam is registered separately at ssceexternal.neco.gov.ng.

Common problems and fixes

  • Invalid token or token already used: a token expires after five checks on one registration number. Confirm you typed it correctly, then buy a new one if it is exhausted.
  • Wrong registration number: every digit counts. Copy it from your exam slip, with no spaces.
  • Result not found: the result may not be released yet, or you picked the wrong year or exam type. Check both before assuming a problem with your result.
  • Portal not opening: release-day traffic. Retry later, switch networks, and never enter your token on a look-alike site. The only address is results.neco.gov.ng.
  • Withheld or incomplete result: contact your school principal first; schools receive NECO’s list of withheld results. NECO’s help desk is support@neco.gov.ng.

Verifying a NECO result for admission or work

Schools, employers and universities confirm a NECO result through NECO’s e-Verify service, not with your checker token. If a university asks you to verify, it needs a NECO verification PIN, which is a separate product from the result token. Awajis Pay stocks the NECO e-verification PIN as well.
