NABTEB Timetable: Exam Dates, Registration & Result Checker

NABTEB exams come in two cycles each year: the May/June NBC/NTC for school candidates and the November/December NBC/NTC for private candidates. The 2026 May/June exam runs from Monday, 15 June 2026, with registration open from 26 January to 31 May 2026 at school.nabteb.gov.ng. The full subject-by-subject timetable is released closer to the start date.

About NABTEB

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) runs the National Business Certificate (NBC) and the National Technical Certificate (NTC) — the technical and vocational equivalent of the WAEC SSCE. Candidates who pass NABTEB qualify to apply to polytechnics, monotechnics, and any tertiary institution that accepts the NBC/NTC.

NABTEB also runs the Advanced Business Certificate (ABC), the Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC), and the Modular Trade Test.

NABTEB exam cycles

  • May/June NBC/NTC — for technical-college students sitting in school (in-school candidates).
  • November/December NBC/NTC — for private candidates and resit candidates.

Each cycle has its own registration window and timetable.

NABTEB 2026 May/June exam dates

  • Registration opens: Monday, 26 January 2026.
  • Registration closes: Sunday, 31 May 2026.
  • Exam starts: Monday, 15 June 2026.

NABTEB 2026 November/December exam dates

NABTEB usually opens private-candidate registration around July, with the exam starting in early November. Confirm the exact dates on the official site once they are published.

How to download the NABTEB timetable

  1. Visit nabteb.gov.ng.
  2. Click News & Events.
  3. Open the latest “NABTEB Timetable” notice for your cycle.
  4. Download the PDF and save it on your phone.

Print or save the timetable so you can confirm the date for each paper without internet access.

How NABTEB exams are arranged

NABTEB papers come in two parts:

  • Paper I — Objective and Essay (theory).
  • Paper II — Practical/Project, where the trade requires it.

Most theory papers run 2 hours 40 minutes. Practicals can run from 3 to 6 hours depending on the trade. There is no free week between theory and practical papers.

Common NBC/NTC subjects

NABTEB covers a long list of business and technical trades. The popular ones include:

  • Business: Accounting, Marketing, Office Practice, Stenography, Salesmanship, Data Processing, Insurance.
  • Technical: Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting, Electronics Works, Auto Electrical Works, Carpentry and Joinery, Block-Laying and Concreting, Painting and Decorating, Catering Craft Practice, Garment Making.
  • Compulsory subjects: English Language, General Mathematics.

How to check NABTEB results

  1. Buy a NABTEB Result Checker PIN (also called scratch card) — ₦600 from the official NABTEB e-PIN portal at eworld.nabteb.gov.ng. Authorised vendors and cyber cafés sell it from ₦900–₦1,100.
  2. Open eworld.nabteb.gov.ng.
  3. Enter the exam year, exam type (NBC or NTC), candidate number, PIN, and serial number.
  4. Submit. Your result loads.

A single PIN works for one candidate’s result and can be used up to five times.

  • Official NABTEB e-PIN portal: ₦600.
  • Authorised vendors / cyber cafés: ₦900–₦1,100.

NABTEB tips for candidates

  • Print or screenshot the timetable as soon as it is released.
  • Arrive at the exam hall at least 30 minutes early.
  • Bring your printed photocard, exam pass, and writing materials. NABTEB centres do not lend pens or pencils.
  • Use the NABTEB syllabus on the official site to plan revision.
  • Past questions for the last 5 years are sold at NABTEB offices and online.

    To be sincere with NABTEB,I felt so sorry for myself because my mates had collected their result since middle of last year.I only got Lit,Civil and Geo out of 9 subjects but I needed Eng-lang in order to clear my undertaking.Upon Paper 1,2,3 all I could get was P7 in Nov/Dec 2015! My papers was marked by who?or was it sold out or its part of business making? Those that marked my papers shall experience bitterness except they are not breathing.
