Premium Individual — ₦1,600/month
One Premium account for one person. Includes ad-free listening, unlimited skips, offline downloads on up to five devices, and on-demand playback on mobile. New users who have never had Premium get a one-month free trial.
Pick this if you’re the only listener and don’t qualify for Student.
Premium Student — ₦800/month
Half the Individual price, with the same features. You must be enrolled at an accredited higher-education institution and verify through SheerID — either by logging into your school portal or uploading proof of enrollment. The discount renews yearly for up to four years total.
Nigerian universities and polytechnics on SheerID’s list qualify. Non-degree programmes and secondary schools do not.
Premium Duo — ₦2,100/month
Two Premium accounts at one address, billed together. Each person keeps their own playlists, recommendations and login. You also get Duo Mix — a shared playlist Spotify generates from both listening histories.
Spotify will ask both members to confirm the same home address. If the second person logs in from a different city for too long, Spotify can prompt the plan owner to confirm the address.
Pick this over two Individual accounts to save ₦1,100/month for the household.
Premium Family — ₦2,500/month
Up to six accounts at one address. Includes:
- Family Mix — a playlist drawn from every member’s taste.
- Explicit filter — the plan owner can block explicit lyrics for younger members.
- Parental controls on individual accounts.
- Spotify Kids app access for under-12 listeners.
Per head this is the cheapest plan: ₦417/month with six members. Three or more listeners under one roof should pick this over Duo or Individual.
How to pay for Spotify in Nigeria
Most Naira debit cards work. The card must support international online payments — many Nigerian banks now require you to enable that flag in the mobile app first.
- Sign in at spotify.com/ng/account.
- Pick the plan and tap Get Premium.
- Enter your card number, expiry, CVV and OTP.
- Spotify charges ₦0 for the trial month, then auto-renews monthly until you cancel.

Common problems
“My Premium subscription went back to Free.”
This usually happens when you sign in with Facebook and Facebook creates a second Spotify account. Sign out, log back in with the email and password tied to your paid account, and close the duplicate.
“My card is declined.”
