How to Check JAMB Admission Status on JAMB Portal

To check your JAMB admission status, log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng with the email and password you used at registration, open Check Admission Status, choose your exam year, enter your JAMB registration number and submit. Checking is free. If you have been offered admission, accept it on CAPS straight away, then print your admission letter (₦1,000). There is no public page that shows admission with only a registration number — you need your eFacility login.

How to check JAMB admission status (step by step)

1. Open efacility.jamb.gov.ng. On a phone, switch Chrome to Desktop site (three dots → Desktop site) — the mobile view often hides the menu.
2. Log in with the email and password from your JAMB registration.
3. Click Check Admission Status.
4. Select your exam year — for this admission cycle, pick the 2026 UTME (or Direct Entry if that is how you applied).
5. Enter your JAMB registration number and click Check Admission Status.
6. Read the message on screen. The table below explains what each one means and what to do next.

How to accept or reject admission on CAPS

CAPS (Central Admissions Processing System) is the part of eFacility where schools offer admission and you respond.

1. Still logged in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, click Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS.
2. Open Admission Status in the CAPS menu.
3. Click Accept (or Reject) and confirm.

Accept as soon as you see the offer. If you reject, the slot goes to someone else, and you may not get another offer this cycle.

Print your admission letter (₦1,000)

After you accept on CAPS, log in to eFacility, choose Print Admission Letter, pay the ₦1,000 fee with your card or the Transaction ID at a bank, then download the PDF and print it on A4. Confirm you are on the matriculation list

Once your school has registered you, your name should appear on JAMB’s matriculation list. This check is public — no login. Open efacility.jamb.gov.ng/CheckMatriculationList, choose your exam year and enter your registration number. If you were admitted but your name never shows, go to your school’s admission office first; admissions given outside CAPS are not recognised.

Why you can’t see your status

• Your O’level result is not uploaded. No school can admit you on CAPS without it. Upload your WAEC/NECO result at a JAMB-accredited CBT centre, then check again after a few days.
• Wrong exam year. Pick the year you wrote the UTME, not the current calendar year.
• The page only says “Welcome”. Switch to Desktop site in Chrome or use a laptop; the menu loads in desktop view.
• The portal is slow or timing out. It gets crowded when schools release lists. Try early morning or late at night.
• Your school simply hasn’t released your batch. Admission runs in batches for months; silence is normal.

Lost your JAMB email or password?

Use the password reset on the eFacility login page; the reset link goes to the email you registered with. If you no longer have that email, open a ticket at support.jamb.gov.ng with your registration number, or visit a JAMB state office with your registration slip and ID. Don’t hand your login to a cybercafé agent who “checks for you” — accepting or rejecting admission is done from that same account.

Is checking JAMB admission status free?

Can I check JAMB admission status with only my registration number?

How long does JAMB admission take?

Schools release admission in batches, usually starting from about August and running for several months, with some lists coming out late in the year.
