How to Be an Outstanding Corper

1. Join the parade or special squad

The parade is the most visible camp activity. Show up early, listen to the commander, and execute drills cleanly. Strong marchers get pulled into the special squad — a small group that performs at the swearing-in ceremony and the closing parade. Each platoon usually contributes at least one squad member.

2. Sign up for OBS (Orientation Broadcasting Service)

3. Run for a platoon executive position

Every platoon elects officers: platoon leader, assistant, secretary, sports director, social director, and welfare officer. 5. Volunteer in the kitchen

6. Try out for camp sports

The sports week features inter-platoon football, athletics, basketball, and volleyball. Decent players become household names by Day 5. Even non-players can sign up as platoon-team coaches or cheerleaders.

Variety nights bring out the camp’s creatives. Acting, dancing, comedy, spoken word, instrument play — pick one. A strong solo performance gets shared on every camper’s phone within minutes.
