Editorial Policy

Awajis publishes step-by-step educational content and factual guides for a Nigerian audience. This page explains how we research, write, and correct articles.

Who writes our content

Content is written by the Awajis editorial team, led by Awajiowa Ibotile, and reviewed before publication. Authors have specific subject knowledge in Nigerian education, exams, and government processes.

How we verify facts

Time-sensitive facts — exam dates, fees, allowances, cut-off marks, officeholder names, exchange rates — are verified against primary sources on every update. We check:

  • Official portals: JAMB (jamb.gov.ng), NECO (neco.gov.ng), NYSC (nysc.gov.ng), WAEC (waecdirect.org), CBN (cbn.gov.ng)
  • Official government announcements and press releases
  • Reputable Nigerian news outlets (Punch, Guardian, Vanguard, Nairametrics) for corroboration

We cross-check at least two independent sources for every time-sensitive claim. If a fact cannot be verified against a current source, we flag it explicitly in the article (“as of last official update”) rather than asserting it as current.

Our corrections process

We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error:

  1. Use the “Report an error” link in the site footer, or the contact page.
  2. Describe the error and, if possible, include a source link.
  3. We re-verify the claim against live sources within 48 hours.
  4. If the error is confirmed, we correct it and note the correction at the bottom of the article.

Advertising and affiliate links

Awajis displays Google AdSense advertisements. Ads are clearly rendered as ads and are served by Google based on page content and/or user interest. We do not let advertisers influence editorial content.

Where we link to products or services as affiliates, we disclose this clearly. Affiliate links do not affect our editorial judgment — we only recommend products we have evaluated as genuinely useful for our readers.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you make a purchase through such a link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Disclosure is made on pages where affiliate links appear.
