What If My Centre Has Few Candidates?
ICAN reserves the right to move candidates from a low-registration centre to the nearest available centre. There is no extra fee, but you must check your docket for the final venue before exam day.
How to Register for an ICAN Exam
1. Pick the right exam
- Professional — for graduates with a bachelor’s degree, HND, or the ICAN AAT/ATSWA qualification.
- ATSWA — for OND holders or anyone with five O’Level credits (including English and Maths) in two sittings.
2. Pay the fees
- One-time student registration: ₦15,000.
- Per-paper exam fee: ₦7,000 (excluding bank charges).
- Conference and induction (for AAT/ATSWA holders moving to Professional): ₦23,500.
Pay through Pay Direct at any commercial bank, WebPay, or QuickTeller via the ICAN portal. Fees are reviewed each year — confirm on icanportal.org before paying.
3. Complete the online form
- Open the receipt link or log in at icanportal.org.
- Upload a recent coloured passport photograph.
- Add your referee’s name, ICAN membership number and phone number.
- Print, sign and have the form endorsed by your referee.
4. Submit and book your centre
Attach two signed passport copies, the original Pay Direct receipt and your PIN voucher. Pick your preferred exam city. ICAN will email a docket with the exact venue and seat number a few weeks before the exam.

How many ICAN exam centres are there in Nigeria?
For the May 2026 Professional sitting, ICAN runs roughly 30 centres across Nigeria plus overseas centres in Cameroon and London. ATSWA uses about 50 city locations, including campus-based venues and city-hall venues.
Can I change my ICAN exam centre?
You pick a centre during registration. ICAN may transfer you to the nearest centre if your chosen location has too few candidates — there is no charge for this transfer.
Where do I confirm my exam venue?
On your examination docket, downloaded from icanportal.org once registration closes. The docket lists the exact hall, seat number and reporting time.
How much does an ICAN exam cost?
₦7,000 per paper as of the 2025 cycle, plus a one-time ₦15,000 student registration fee. AAT/ATSWA candidates moving up pay an additional ₦23,500 conference and induction fee.
Does ICAN have an exam centre in Lagos Island?
No. The Lagos centres are at the University of Lagos (Akoka) and the ICAN Students’ Centre in Amuwo-Odofin. The Victoria Island address is the head office, not an exam venue.
