Solving today’s Pips? Above are the solved boards for all three daily puzzles — Easy, Medium, and Hard — each behind its own tap-to-reveal so you only see the one you need. The grids come from the New York Times’ official puzzle data and refresh automatically at midnight Eastern.
How Pips Works
Pips is the NYT’s daily domino puzzle. You get a set of dominoes and a board divided into regions, each with a condition: the pips in that region must add up to a target, all be equal, or all be different, for example. Every domino must be placed, and every region’s condition must hold. The Easy board is small; Hard boards use more dominoes and overlapping constraints.
Tips for Solving Pips
Start with the most restrictive regions — a region that needs a total of 0 or a high sum in few cells has very few options. Place dominoes with extreme values (0s and 6s) first, and treat “all equal” regions as anchors: once one cell is set, the rest follow. If you’re stuck, reveal just the Easy grid above and study how the constraints interact.
