Stuck on today’s Letter Boxed? Above you’ll find gentle hints first — word lengths and starting letters — then the New York Times’ own official solution behind a tap-to-reveal, so you never get spoiled by accident. The page refreshes automatically at midnight Eastern when the new puzzle drops.

How Letter Boxed Works

Letter Boxed gives you 12 letters arranged on the four sides of a square, three per side. Build words by connecting letters — with one rule: consecutive letters can’t come from the same side. Each new word must start with the last letter of the previous word, and you win by using all 12 letters. The par shown on the puzzle is the NYT’s target word count; solving in two words is the classic flex.

Tips for Solving Letter Boxed

Start by hunting for a long word that clears 8–10 letters, then look for a second word that starts with your first word’s last letter and mops up the rest. Rare letters (like Z, X, or V) usually anchor the solution — build around them first. Prefixes and suffixes (UN-, RE-, -TION, -IZE) stretch words over more sides.
