Peachcare for Adults Eligibility

In 1997, Congress put in place Title XXI of the Social Security Act to deliver healthcare coverage for the rising number of non-insured American children. This law afforded states with new opportunities to introduce programs to raise access to quality health care coverage. PeachCare for Kids® is the program’s official name in Georgia.

In 1999, PeachCare for Kids® was founded to provide affordable healthcare to children under the age of 19 who are not eligible for Medicaid and reside in households earning less than 247 % of the federal poverty level.

PeachCare for Kids® provides the following: medical care from a health professional when your kid is unwell; preventive health services such as vaccinations and routine checkups; emergency treatment; dental treatment; eye care, such as vision screening tests and prescription glasses; hospital visits; emergency medical assistance; prescription medicines; and psychological counselling. Each child will have an option of a Georgia Families Care Management Organization (CMO), a corporate healthcare plan responsible for overseeing your child’s medical coverage.

Families with children under the age of six are not charged anything. Early as age 6, insurance costs are calculated based on the federal poverty level and family size. PeachCare for Kids®’ coverage costs $11.00 to $36.00 each month for one kid and $16.00 to $72.00 per month for multiple children living under the same roof. You will receive information regarding paying your premium and the cost once you have completed the application.

To access all perks under the PeachCare for Kids® initiative, children must either be American citizens or eligible immigrants and be Georgia residents. Unless the youngster enters the U.S. before August 22, 1996, he or she must have been eligible for a minimum of 5 years. For members of the military or those who are refugees, the five-year limit is not applicable. There are a few exceptions to the citizenship criteria, so check with PeachCare for Kids® program officials to see if you or your kids qualify.

Who is qualified to apply for PeachCare for Kids®?

PeachCare for Kids® is available to many Georgia children below the age of 19 who do not have health insurance. These kids come from families who make up below or equivalent to 247 % of the federal poverty line.

How much does it cost?

Children aged six and over are obliged to pay a premium. PeachCare for Kids® coverage costs $11 to $36 monthly for one child and $72 per month for multiple children living under the same roof. Premiums must be paid on the first day of the month leading up to the month of coverage. For instance, premiums for February’s coverage are to be paid on January 1 of each year.

Many PeachCare for Kids® clients must make co-payments for their children’s care. Co-payments are made to medical care providers on the day they receive services.

Children below the age of six, adopted children, Alaskan Natives, and American Indians, on the other hand, are not obliged to make co-pays.

This group of people are not subject to these co-payments and will not be charged any cost for the services they enjoy.

Please get in touch with PeachCare for Kids® at 1-877-427-3224 if you have any more inquiries.
