Do you know that the management of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the timetable for candidates that will participate in its 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)? 

Yes. the timetable is out and that’s why we are here to state it out clearly to you on this page. All you need to do is to check carefully and jot down the days you have exam.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the examination conducted for candidates in their final year of Junior Secondary School. It is used for transition from JSS 3 of the basic education class to the senior secondary school.

Observe All Exam Guidelines

Each pupil must bring a printed photocard for identification.

If time on the question paper is different from the timetable, follow the time on the question paper.

Business Studies and Basic Science and Technology practicals should run in batches if equipment is not enough.

All practicals must end by 5:00 pm.

Computers may be used in Business Studies practicals.

Extra 30 minutes is allowed for albino and blind pupils in every subject.

Blind pupils must write on the NECO Braille Sheet only.

Electronic devices such as calculators, phones, tablets, smart pens or watches are banned from the hall.

Keep this guide nearby and follow it exactly to avoid missing any part of the exam.

About NECO BECE (JUNIOR WAEC)

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the examination conducted for candidates in their final year of Junior Secondary School. It is used for transition from JSS 3 of the basic education class to the senior secondary school.

While each state of the federation and the FCT conduct the BECE for their candidates, NECO conducts for Federal Unity Colleges and other allied institutions.

Interested private secondary schools also take the examination, provided they are permitted by their States Ministries of Education. BECE certificate replaces the primary school certificate as the first school leaving certificate.

Eighteen subjects are administered at the BECE level. A candidate is to register for a minimum of nine subjects and a maximum of ten subjects.

The BECE grading system is as follows:

  • A – Distinction
  • B – Upper Credit
  • C – Lower Credit
  • P – Pass
  • F – Fail

  4. Our school have not written BECE, we thought it may be on June or July but it is written here that it from April 25th to may 11th, I really don’t understand
