MTN Y’ello Star Registration: Are you aware of the banging brand new musical reality TV show called “Y’ello Star”? Oh, I know that some of you will still be unaware of that because it’s a new brand brought you by MTN. This was being announced at MTN head office in Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
So right here, I will show you everything you need to know about the newly branded reality TV show varying from its aim and how you can register for it all by yourself.
What is MTN Y’ello Star?
I don’t like mixing words, so I will tell you what this initiative is all about according to what MTN Nigeria say’s:
According to them,
“Y’ello Star is a musical medium created to search for, discover, nurture, expose and launch music talents in young Nigerians.”
Who is Eligible for MTN Y’ello Star?
When the company announces this initiative, they didn’t include any academic qualifications or experiences before participating in the MTN Y’ello Star TV show.
Rather, this is an opportunity that is open to all talented young Nigerians who are willing to see his/her self at the top when it comes to music.
MTN Y’ello Star Registration Process
There are three ways you can use to register for this contest, and this is;
1. The Y’ello Star Website
If you choose to register for this contest using this method, this is what you have to do;
- Visit www.mtnonline.com/yellostar
- Fill the registration form (Fill in all the required details)
- Upload your 1-minute video
- Wait for the progress bar to turn green and Accept the terms and conditions
- Click the submit button;
- After that, you will get an email notification confirming your registration
2. myMTN App
This process is just like the online process, but you will have to download myMTN App first on your device.
After downloading/installing the APP, launch it and then click on the Y’ello Star icon on the App homepage and Fill the form registration.
Upload your 1 minute video and wait for the progress bar to turn green and Accept the terms and conditions then click the submit button
Wait for your confirmatory email to ascertain your registration
3. Social Media
Upload a minute video of yourself singing on Instagram or Twitter and Use the hashtag #MTNYelloStar and tag @mtnng,
You will receive an automated response from @mtnng then Click the confirmation link and Fill the form and submit.
For Facebook:
- For Facebook: Click the MTN Y’ello Star tab on the MTN Nigeria Facebook page and Fill the registration form, Upload your 1 minute video and wait for the progress bar to turn green and Click the submit button, You will get an email notification confirming your registration
After successful submission on any of these platforms, share your entry to get your friends and family to vote for you.
Submission Guidelines
Guide on Taking Video
Before you can be selected to appear for regional auditions, holding in Abuja, Enugu and Lagos, you must do a video recording of yourself performing a musical act.
- If your smartphone does not have good camera resolution, visit a video studio to take at least a 60 seconds video.
- If through your smartphone, ensure the file is saved in .mp4 or tell them to save the video in .mp4
- In the video studio, request for the .mp4 file of the video, and have it sent to your smartphone and/or flash drive.
Guide on Uploading Video
Before you upload your video, ensure you follow the submission guidelines:
- All video submissions must be LIVE recordings of yourself singing any cover song of your choice. No original songs, lip synching, studio recordings or highly edited videos will be accepted.
- You may choose to sing acapella or use a live instrument i.e guitar, piano. Do not use backing tracks or instrumentals.
- Shoot your video in a bright/well-lit setting. We want to be able to see you.
- Do not use auto-tune.
- Check your video before submitting it and make sure the audio can be heard clearly.
- Submission videos should be no longer than 60 seconds.
- Video size should be no more than 150MB.
- Only one submission per applicant will be accepted.
