Hey, Welcome to the MTN Nigeria Internet Bundle page. This page will do a simple job of listing out all the new MTN Data Plans for Nigeria. The activation code for each data plan is stated alongside the duration and data allowance.

Please note that this page is strictly for MTN Nigeria Data Subscription Codes. I hope you find it useful. I’m just gonna jump right into it.

How to Activate Internet Browsing on MTN – Setting

I feel this is obsolete as almost everyone uses a smartphone these days. Configuring a browsing setting requires that you manually type in the MTN APN, Account name, username, and password.

All new phones should automatically be configured for browsing once a sim is inserted.

But, since there will always be that 1 person who is still using a java or Symbian phone. I shall list the correct MTN Internet Browsing settings below. Here is it:

• account name: MTN GPRS
  APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
  IP Address: 10.199.212.2
  port: 8080 (for HTML) / 9201 (for WAP)
  username: web
  password: web

Port 8080 is recommended except if your mobile phone supports only WAP.

If you buy your internet browsing devices from an MTN service center, it will be pre-loaded with MTN internet settings.

The 3.5G FastLink USB modem costs around N5,000 from MTN and is also compatible with 3G/EDGE/GPRS. According to Ads on MTN website offers 6 months of free data, though we cannot confirm the limits.

MTN also offers a portable Wi-Fi router that enables you to share your internet access with up to five Wi-Fi devices within a 10m range. The portable Wi-Fi hotspot called MTN Mi-Fi costs N21,000 with a 3GB free internet browsing bundle. To activate your MTN free Mi-Fi bundle, text MIFI to 131.

Brief Details of Some MTN Data Plans

1.5GB MTN Data Plan

MTN 1.5GB Data plan (formally 100MB, 200MB, 260MB, 1GB): This MTN data plan offers 24/7 internet access for 30 days at N1,000. The browsing bundle is limited to 1.5GB data.

The 1.5GB MTN data plan is best suited for browsing directly on your mobile phone.

Even when using mobile phones with this MTN data Plan, it is a good idea to download and browse with the Opera Mini/mobile browser or a similar cloud-based data compression browser like the UC Browser or UC Mini.

To migrate to the 1.5GB internet browsing bundle SMS 106 to 131. This MTN data plan can also be used on your laptop or desktop but do not expect it to last more than a week except you are on a slow network or browse only occasionally.

To save bandwidth, it is a good idea to turn off automatic updates for OS and Antivirus. If your antivirus allows you to set the frequency of updates, set it to daily (24 hours/1440 minutes).

15GB Data Plan

This plan is best for browsing on your laptop or desktop. It offers 24/7 (always on) Internet access to prepaid MTN subscribers for a 30-day period at a price of 5,000 NGN.

The MTN Data Plan is limited to 15GB data (formally 5GB, 10GB, then 11GB) per month. To migrate to this 30-day MTN Data Plan SMS 116 to 131.

Make sure you have at least N5,000 on your account before migrating. Once migration is successful N5,000 will automatically be deducted from your MTN account.

The 15GB MTN data plan is recommended for heavy users on high-speed (4G / 3G/HSDPA) coverage.

40GB Data Plan

The 40GB Data Plan is another exciting package from MTN. This MTN Data plan is the best if used with a wireless router to build a hotspot in your home or office.

With the hotspot, you can connect multiple devices smartphones, laptops, desktop, set-top boxes, etc. You get 24/7 (always on) Internet access for a 30-day period at a price of 10,000 NGN.

The MTN Data Plan is limited to 40GB (formally 22GB, then 25GB) per month. To migrate to this 30-day MTN Data Plan SMS 117 to 131.

Make sure you have at least N10,000 on your account before migrating. Once migration is successful N10,000 will automatically be deducted from your MTN account.

The 40GB MTN data plan is recommended for heavy users on high-speed (4G LTE / 3G/HSDPA) coverage.

24-hour Data Plan

24 hours browsing bundle: MTN offers a daily internet data plan. This internet browsing bundle allows subscribers to pay daily for 150MB bulk internet access.

You pay for this service any day you want to browse the internet. Just pay N350 any day you want to browse and you will get 24 hours of internet browsing access from MTN limited to 1GB data.

The 24 hours data plan will appeal to customers who currently spend a couple of hours a week browsing the internet in cyber cafes, especially if they already have a computer at home/office.

This is a very good plan, it is cheap and convenient however you may find it wanting if you want 24/7 access. This internet service is available to MTN prepaid users only.

To migrate to the daily MTN data Plan SMS 155 to 131 on any day you want to browse the internet. Internet access will be available for 24 hours limited to 1GB.

Make sure you have at least N350 on your account before migrating. Once migration is successful N350 will automatically be deducted from your MTN account.
