Maltina Teacher of the Year Award aims to recognise and celebrate exceptional teachers in Nigeria.
The Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition
The Maltina Teacher of the Year (introduced in 2015) is a national competition to identify, honour and reward outstanding teachers in Nigeria.
Maltina Teacher of the Year has recognised a total of 181 teachers since its inception.
It is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders in education, including the Nigeria Union of Teachers(NUT), the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
The Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition is open to teachers in ALL secondary schools across the country.
There will be champions from each state of the Federation and the FCT from which the overall winner will emerge.
State Champions that emerge from the 36 States and the FCT are recognised and rewarded, and the National Winners will emerge from these State Champions after further assessment.

Maltina Teacher of the Year Award Prizes
Apply for the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition to win the following prizes:
Winner:
- 6.5 million naira (N6,500,000.00)
- Capacity development training
- Fully equipped block of classrooms or computer laboratory.
First Runner-up:
- 1.5 million naira (N1,500,000.00).
Second Runner-up:
- One million, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N1,250,000.00).
State Champion
State Champions (36 States + FCT) will get a cash reward of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00) each.
