The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) publishes a brochure every year listing every approved institution, course, and entry requirement in Nigeria. The 2026/2027 JAMB Brochure is now available as free PDF downloads, organised by faculty. Use this page to download the section you need and check whether your target school offers your course.
The 2026 UTME ran from April 16 to April 25, 2026, with results trickling out from late April. Direct Entry registration runs alongside UTME each cycle. Even if you sat the 2026 paper, the brochure is the document you check before choosing your university and course on the CAPS portal.
What Is the JAMB Brochure?
The JAMB Brochure is the official catalogue of every degree-awarding institution, polytechnic, monotechnic, college of education, and innovation enterprise institute in Nigeria, plus the courses each one offers and the entry requirements for each course.
It used to be a printed book. JAMB stopped printing it years ago. Today it is a set of PDFs you download from the JAMB website or from this page.
Read the brochure before you fill the UTME or DE form. It tells you:
- Whether your dream school actually offers your dream course
- The exact UTME subject combination required for that course
- The O’level credit pass requirement (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB)
- Special entry conditions (state-of-origin quotas, faculty cut-offs, programme length)

How to Use the JAMB Brochure
- Pick your course. Decide on the degree you want before you open the brochure.
- Check the UTME subject combination. The brochure shows the four subjects you must register for that course (Use of English is compulsory for everyone).
- Check the O’level requirement. Most courses need 5 credits at WAEC/NECO/NABTEB in relevant subjects, sat in not more than two sittings.
- List the schools that offer it. The brochure groups schools under each course.
- Check special conditions. Some universities require state-of-origin, post-UTME, or higher cut-offs. Cross-check on the school’s own website.

Instead of reading every requirement manually, use the JAMB IBASS eligibility checker:
- Visit eligibility.jamb.gov.ng
- Select Mode of Admission, Institution Type, Institution Category, Institution, and Programme.
- Pick your UTME subject combination.
- Click Check Programme Eligibility.
- The page tells you if your subjects qualify and lists alternatives if they don’t.
General UTME Entry Requirements
- Sit Use of English plus three relevant subjects in the UTME.
- Hold one of: WAEC/NECO/NABTEB SSCE with 5 credits in relevant subjects (max two sittings); TC II with credit/merit in 5 subjects (not accepted for some courses); NTC/NBC with 5 credits.
- Maths credit is required for all sciences and social sciences except where stated.
- English credit is required for all courses except where stated.
- A current matriculated student of any Nigerian university cannot sit UTME again — except transfers from foreign universities.
Direct Entry (DE) Requirements
DE applicants enter at 200 level (or higher) on a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-year programme. You qualify if you hold one of the following:
- (a) Five subjects passed in not more than two sittings, with at least two at A-Level (Principal/Advanced) and the rest at SSCE/NTC/NBC credit. No subject counted at both O- and A-level.
- (b) Two NCE major-subject passes plus SSCE/NTC/NBC credits in three other subjects (mainly for Education).
- (c) Two passes at IJMB, the Cambridge-moderated School of Basic Studies terminal exam, or International Baccalaureate, plus SSCE/NTC/NBC credits in three other subjects (subject to university requirements).

FAQ
Is the JAMB brochure free?
Yes. JAMB does not charge for the PDFs. Anyone selling you a printed JAMB brochure is reselling a free document.
Has JAMB released the 2026/2027 brochure?
Yes. The 2026/2027 brochure is published as PDFs on the JAMB website and on this page. Faculty PDFs cover all approved Nigerian universities.
What’s the difference between the brochure and the syllabus?
The brochure tells you what to study (course + school + subject combination + entry requirement). The JAMB Syllabus tells you what topics will be tested in the UTME.
Can I change my course after JAMB registration?
Yes, through the JAMB CAPS portal. You can change institution, course, or both, but you must first pay a correction fee.
Where do I find specific university requirements?
The Specific Entry Requirements PDF lists per-school conditions on top of JAMB’s general rules. Always cross-check the university’s own admission page too.
How old must I be for UTME 2026?
At least 16 years old by 30 September 2026. JAMB enforces this from the registration stage.
