There&#8217;s no monthly bill to stop. This is what most users want.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cancel a subscription (Google Workspace):<\/strong> Stops the paid Voice licenses your organization pays for each month. Only an admin can do this, and it&#8217;s done in the Admin console, not voice.google.com.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you never set up Voice through a work or school Workspace account, you have the personal version. Use the steps in the next section.<\/p>\n<h2>How do you delete a personal Google Voice number?<\/h2>\n<p>This works on a free Google Account at voice.google.com. The number leaves your account, and deletion is free.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Open Voice.<\/strong> Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/voice.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voice.google.com<\/a> on a computer and sign in.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Open Settings.<\/strong> Click the gear icon (top right of the screen).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go to Account.<\/strong> Click <strong>Account<\/strong> in the left menu, where your number lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delete the number.<\/strong> Under your Google Voice number, click <strong>Delete<\/strong>, then confirm with <strong>Delete number<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After deletion, you have <strong>90 days<\/strong> to get the same number back. To reclaim it, return to voice.google.com > Settings > Account, click <strong>Get a number<\/strong>, and select your old number. After 90 days, the number is gone for good.<\/p>\n<h2>How do you cancel a paid Google Voice subscription (Workspace)?<\/h2>\n<p>Do this only if your organization pays for Voice and you&#8217;re an admin. Cancelling ends all your Voice licenses.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Sign in as admin.<\/strong> Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Admin console<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go to Subscriptions.<\/strong> From the Menu, open <strong>Billing<\/strong> > <strong>Subscriptions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Select Google Voice.<\/strong> Click your Google Voice subscription in the list.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Start the cancellation.<\/strong> Click the More menu (three dots) > <strong>Cancel subscription<\/strong>, then pick a reason and click Continue.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirm.<\/strong> Review the details, check the confirmation box, enter your admin email, and click <strong>Cancel my subscription<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Cancelling terminates every Voice license on the account. Your other Google Workspace subscriptions, like Gmail or Drive, keep running.<\/p>\n<h2>What to do before you cancel Workspace Voice<\/h2>\n<p>Some steps can&#8217;t be undone, so handle these first.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Port out your numbers.<\/strong> Move any phone numbers you want to keep to another provider before cancelling. Once Voice is cancelled, those numbers can be lost. See <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/answer\/9530249\" rel=\"noopener\">Port out Google Voice numbers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save user data.<\/strong> Voice data is deleted when accounts are removed, so export it first with the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/answer\/100458\">data export tool<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Download billing records.<\/strong> You lose access to invoices after cancellation unless you keep an active Workspace subscription. Save copies you might need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Common problems when cancelling Google Voice<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No Delete button on voice.google.com:<\/strong> You&#8217;re likely on a Workspace account. Numbers there are managed by your admin in the Admin console, not by you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You changed your mind:<\/strong> A deleted personal number can be reclaimed within 90 days. After that, you&#8217;ll need a new number.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Still being billed after cancelling Workspace Voice:<\/strong> Confirm the cancellation went through in Billing > Subscriptions, and check that you cancelled Voice and not a different subscription.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lost your number after cancelling a subscription:<\/strong> This happens when numbers weren&#8217;t ported out first.
