What is BIC® Art Master Africa?

The BIC® Art Master Ball Pen contest encourages talents across Africa and the Middle East to showcase their creativity and compete with fellow artists.

BIC® Art Master is a stage that allows artists to get acknowledged for the work they do.

This is an official invite to all creative individuals from Africa to participate in this year’s BIC® Art Master 2022.

BIC Art Master Contest Theme

This year’s theme is Celebrating Africa. Your artwork should centre on the theme. It should portray the rich African heritage and culture.

Entrants should ensure that content is original, authentic and the rightful property of the entrant.

Contest Rules

The following are essential rules for this contest:

  1. Create artwork with any BIC Ball Pens. Only BIC pens will be accepted
  2. Submit before the deadline – 31st August 2022.
  3. This contest is open to residents in Africa and the Middle East only.
  4. Entrants must be aged 13 years or older. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent/ guardian to enter.
  5. The artwork must be prepared on a minimum A3 size paper/medium (29.7cm W x 42.0cm H).
  6. Each artist needs to register once and enter as many as three artworks maximum.
  7. The artist needs to submit original and authentic artworks only.
  8. The winning artist will have to present the original artwork when required.

Competition Period

The Competition Period starts at 12:00 am GMT Monday 13-06-2022.

The Competition closes at 11:59 pm GMT Wednesday 31-08-2022.

How to Apply – Application Form

You are a step away from becoming the BIC® Art Master of Africa for 2022.

Application Form

Entrants are required to create a large scale (no smaller than A3) piece of art using only BIC® Ball Pen.

Entrants can submit three entries that are substantially unique and submitted separately.

The Prizes of BIC® Art Master Africa 2022

The winners of this competition will be selected based on the following criteria: originality, creativity, and eloquence.

The following prizes are available for grabs.

1st Prize:

The first prize winner goes home with the following honours:

  • BIC Art Master Prize
  • $2,000 Cash Prize
  • Online Personalized Gallery developed by BIC (to manage and upload the winning artwork for two years)
  • Get Featured in BIC Art Collection

2nd Prize

The second-place winner gets:

  • $1,000 Cash Prize

3rd Prize

The second runner-up gets a $500 Cash Prize.

Note:

BIC Art Master of Africa first-place winner is not eligible to win the national Prize of their country of residence/nationality.

Second and Third place winners are eligible to also win the national Prize in their countries of residence/nationality.

National Winners

The National Winner of a Country is the local winner of the competition in any of the countries that are taking part.

Each national winner gets a $500 Cash Prize in the BIC® Art Master Africa contest.

Lucky Voter Winner

The Lucky Voter Prize Winner will be chosen randomly from all Facebook users who share any of the top 10 artworks on their profiles during and after the competition, using their unique IDs.

These works of art will be put into a programme that picks a winner by chance.

Winners will be asked to send the original artwork to the Promoter so that it can be checked for originality and ownership. Alternatively, the Promoter will pick up the artwork from the finalists within 15 working days.

The Lucky Voter winner receives a prize valuing 250 USD.

Winners will be announced before 15 October 2022.

Note:

BIC reserves the right to revoke and cancel the winner’s announcement if the winner’s original artwork is plagiarized, copied, or replicated or if it is found unoriginal.

BIC will also seek to recover the winner’s prize money and other reasonable costs and expenses, including legal fees and indemnification for settlement of any claims made regarding the winner’s artwork.
